We are owned by C.M. “Mike” Adams who is also our senior certified forensics investigator. Mike has had a hand on every new computer since the days of paper punch cards and magnetic tape drives. In today’s digital world the term ‘computer forensics’ does not completely describe the scope of work that the forensics investigator performs. Today the more appropriate phrase to use is “Digital Forensics”. Digital forensics includes not only Computers but also GPS devices, Cellular Phones, Digital Cameras, PDAs, Pad devices, Tablet Devices and even digital cameras that are designed to look like writing pens and innocent wristwatches. In short, anything with a digital memory is in the realm of the digital forensics investigator. If you are considering using a digital forensics examiner then act fast. Time is always a consideration in these matters. We need to access that data before it is overwritten and becomes useless.
Prime Focus Forensics is one of the few fully licensed, insured, and bonded Private Investigation Agencies (A17351) in Texas with Certified Forensic Investigators on staff. The law in Texas, and now many other States, is that any computer forensics, or digital forensics investigator, must also be a licensed Private Investigator as well.
We will perform criminal defense forensic examinations and we will testify in criminal defense matters. We do this because we believe in everyone’s right to the best possible defense. Also because many of us watch what the Innocence Project, and others like it, are doing and we see men, mainly black men, walking out of prisons after being incarcerated for years and years. We do not have the luxury of pointing at the ‘system’ when we learn of these grievous errors. Until a test is devised to prove, with 100% certainty, that the charged is guilty or innocent prior to trial, we will maintain this policy. Until then we will continue producing the most objective data possible for our client and their attorney to use as best they can.
